How to Get Energy
To get energy, you need to create energy.
What Is Energy?
Energy is the ability to do work (a force causing displacement to an object). While we often hear about energy consumption, energy is never really consumed. It's simply transferred between states and from one form or object to another one.
Energy is everywhere. Everything that we eat or use has energy embodied in it.
Since we're primarily concerned about individual needs and goals, in this blog we'll focus on energy that you as a human need. But keep in mind that energy is essential to all living organisms, communities, countries, etc. For example, energy demand is closely linked to economic growth of a country.
Why Is Energy Important?
Being offbeat involves a lot of hard work to accomplish what we want (including freedom). But to really make the most out of life and ..., you need to have energy. Sometimes, you will not have energy and that's okay. but it's important to be energetic at least most of the time.
Energy is essential to life. When it comes to our own bodies, energy fuels and regulates our body’s natural internal functions. For example, it repairs cells and body tissue, it's used to build muscle, and it's necessary to maintain homeostasis (healthy state).
In society, energy is used for everything — from cars to computers and artificial light.
Physical Energy: Energy For The Body
You need energy for activities like exercise, work, and play.
Mental Energy: Energy For The Brain
Your brain needs a constant and good of energy to continuously work effectively.
How to Get Energy
The truth is that we don’t “get” energy. We create energy.
Forget artificial energy boosters and start with the basics. Here's what you should focus on to always have energy:
Sleep Is The Key
"It doesn’t matter how much time you spend in bed if your sleep cycles are not healthy."
10-20 minute (max 30) power naps.
Research shows that getting more sunlight exposure in the morning can decrease cortisol levels later in the evening.
Exercise regularly
Regular exercise will make you sleep comfortably every day.
Exercise often also leads to increased brain dopamine levels, which will elevate your mood.
Avoid being an "active sedentary" and try getting some exercise about every 90 minutes.
Eat for Energy
Eat food with with a low glycemic index.
Make sure you get enough protein and fiber.
Water
Caffeine
Caffeine is one of the best ways to increase your energy but you have to do use it correctly. Having too much or at after a certain time can cause problems with sleep, and can become addictive.
Control stress
Take some time to do what you low, relax, and distract yourself.
Most of us feel the pressure to drive ourselves to bigger and better heights. A hectic lifestyle can cause high levels of stress.
While it's good to strive for greatness, learn to do nothing and just relax when you feel the need.
Try taking a bath or reading a book.
Take Advantage of The Sun
Natural light is the strongest factor controlling our circadian rhythms. Always start your day by opening the blinds or going out for a walk.
Energy Can Be Temporary
Energy comes and goes, so you need to take full advantage of high peaks.
In our everyday life, we get fluxes of energy. When we have a lot, we need to take advantage of that situation and do what we really care about.
The goal of OFFBEAT IS to give inspiration and energy to lost boys.
